Good Charlotte...

Good Charlotte was first started by identical twins Benji and Joel. They were 16 years old and didn't have a lot of money to spare. Their dad walked out on them on a Christmas Eve and ever since then there were money troubles...

Benji who is the lead guitarist and singer and Joel who is the lead singer then got their friend Paul to play Bass and then later Billy became a new member of the band playing guitar.

When Good Charlotte still wasn't signed they began to tour with Blink 182, Bad Religion, and Lit. They also played at for many charities and at WHFS' HFSTIVAL. At the WHFS' HFSTIVAL they begain playing on the locals stage but then soon enought they begain playing on the Street Stage.

GC was finally signed with Epic Records in 2000. Their first record self titled Good Charlotte soon came out after and it was like a dream for the guys.

Benji and Joel do all of the song writing. All of their songs come "straight from the heart" says Joel. They write their songs about polictical things and personal issues like their dad walking out. Some of the songs can be really sad if you really listen to the lyrics. Like in Emotionless the song is all about their dad leaving and how much it hurt but that the family is fine and that they moved on. But then some of their other songs can be really up beat like Waldorf World Wide. The beat in that song is amazing!
